Last week I attended the Paper Source Note Symposium in Las Vegas. This is an annual event organized by one of the class people in the note business, Bill Mencarow. At my first event about 8 or 9 years ago, 50 of us showed up. This time there were 500! Bill is doing something right.
More than the numbers, though, is the content. If you have any interest in any aspect of real estate investing, you should attend this event. The topics are so inclusive, from note brokering/investing to buying foreclosures, non performing 1st and 2nd’s, commercial mortgages, using a self-directed IRA to purchase notes and properties, using a third party servicing company, using the right amortization schedule software, etc., etc. Some of the most professional and experienced folks in the industry share what they are doing – and no-one sells you anything!
